If you’ve been a Member with us for a while, you know we’ve never been the kind of financial institution that treats you like an account number. That hasn’t changed. But this fall, a lot of other things are.
What’s in a name?
We’ve heard plenty of our Members call us “FIG” for a while, so this fall, we’re making it official. Say hello to FIG Credit Union.
Our new name will be appearing soon, and our new logo will begin appearing across our app, our branches, and everything in between. If you’re wondering what prompted it, the honest answer is simple: our name is catching up to who we’ve always been. We’ve grown well beyond where we started, and this new identity reflects the full breadth of who we serve today without changing the thing that matters, which is how we serve you.
Here’s what’s not changing: Your existing Membership and accounts will continue under the terms that apply to those accounts unless we notify you otherwise. The people who know your name when you call or walk into a branch. The values that have guided us for 90 years.
Same people. Same mission. Same credit union that starts every relationship by listening first. Just a name and a look that finally fit.
Your digital banking experience is getting an upgrade, too.
We’re upgrading our digital banking experience. It is being designed to provide a cleaner, more intuitive app experience for managing your accounts. Whether you’re checking a balance between meetings or moving money on your lunch break, the goal is the same: fewer steps where possible and easier access to commonly used tools. We’ll be sharing the full details as the upgrade rolls out, but the short version is that the tool you already use every day is being upgraded. Don’t worry, you’ll have the same accounts and account numbers unless we notify you otherwise.
But here’s a sneak peek. Zelle® is back. When we moved to our current digital banking platform a few years ago, Zelle didn’t come with us. You told us that you missed it. This fall, Zelle returns for personal use. It is not set up to send or receive business payments.
Eligible Members may be able to send and receive money with others who are enrolled with Zelle through a U.S. financial institution—right from the FIG Credit Union app. No third-party app. No extra steps. Just you, your mobile phone, and the people you’re sending money to.
One thing to know: Zelle is replacing Pay A Person (PayRailz). Your Pay A Person history and contacts may not carry over automatically, so we’ll send you a separate email soon with details about steps to take before the switch.
And for the first time, we’re planning to offer full business banking.
This is one we’re very excited about. A lot of our Members already run a business—a Farmers agency, a law practice, a dental office, an accounting firm, a retail store—and up until now, that may have meant banking in two places: personal accounts here, business accounts somewhere else. Different logins. Different relationship managers. Different everything.
This fall, that changes. We’re launching full business banking services, including business checking, savings, money market accounts, treasury tools, ACH and payroll processing support, business credit cards, and more, subject to membership eligibility, account opening requirements, approval, and product terms. Business credit products are subject to credit approval, underwriting, and applicable terms and conditions.
Getting started is simple: one conversation with your Business Banking Relationship Manager or a member of our business banking team can help identify the business banking products and services that may fit your needs. Account opening, service access, and credit products may require additional information, documentation, approval, and applicable agreements.
Why all of this, all at once?
Because none of it is really separate. A new name and a sharper look. A digital experience designed to make banking easier. Business banking services intended to support eligible Members with business needs. It points to the same thing: we’re here to support the broader picture of your financial life, personal and business, based on the products and services available to you.
More details on each of these are coming over the next several weeks. Keep checking your email for the latest updates.
